He earned a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance from Western Kentucky University, where he studied with David Kelsey. This was followed Master of Music in guitar performance from Austin Peay State University, where he studied with Stanley Yates.

Mr. Winner is currently a full-time instructor of guitar studies at The Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee. Drawing students from Nashville and the surrounding community, he has founded a thriving guitar department consisting of an average of 50 students per semester. Students of all ages and ability levels are offered group, ensemble, and private instruction. His students have numerous opportunities to participate in student recitals and seminars as well attend professional recitals and concerts in the center's performance hall.

In addition to teaching, Andrew performs frequently. He is credited with numerous recitals and radio and television performances. In this year alone, he has performed major works by Regondi, Villa-Lobos, Rak, Turina, Tarrega, Gnattali, Bach, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Sagreras, Sor, Dowland, Mertz, and Gilardino.

" I perform quite frequently and have had the opportunity to use my guitar in a variety of situations and locales- solo, chamber, and recording. It's been unfailingly true to each task. But in addition to being a wonderful performance instrument, it is also a superlative practice tool. The ports in the upper bout allow you to hear yourself as never before."

" If you have yet to listen to and play one of these guitars, you're missing out on a real treat. My guitar has everything: volume, tone, sustain, color, evenness across the register and playability! It's a real jewel."
